ACADEMIC PROJECT 02: Furniture Product sets design

Year: 2015

The project required me randomly ballot to choose the material and type of furniture that we design. Then the topic, I received was a "paper lamp".
Paper is a fairly soft material and is difficult to clean. I have researched several types of papers that are waterproof and easy to clean, I decided to choose Do paper - one of the typical papers traditionally produced in many villages in Vietnam. Do paper is used for painting in Vietnamese folk art, especially for Dong Ho paintings in particular.

Do paper surface detail

The most outstanding feature is its durability over time. It has a light, durable, non-smudging properties when drawing, is less prone to termites, or brittle, moist.
With very high moisture-proof properties, the paper is not moldy. The paper has good thermal insulation and soundproof properties due to its multidimensional fiber structure.

Simple sketching

I tried to create some initial ideas with a wide range of shapes. The idea is based on the image of the Fishbone. I want to make sure my product is low price and fit for all users. I consider the form, function and the golden ratio to certain, it can be industrially produced.

After that, we were asked to design a different product to create an interior set
I asked myself: what can paper do?
For safety I decided to make a wall clock with Fishbone module.
