An Indian Wedding
HALDI
The bride looking forward more than ever. After all, it's the day before her wedding day. This is called Haldi function where turmeric is applied to the bride's face, hands and feet.
The sisters of the bride are celebrating the occasion with some graceful dancing.
She waited for the function to be over, so she could sit on the Jhoola (the swing) and get a picture clicked :)
The elders of the family are always up for a picture.
This little one loves eating turmeric. Also, everyone else is dressed in yellow, and so is she.
Every girl wants a Jhoola picture.
THE WEDDING
In the Telugu tradition, there's a ceremony called Jeelkarra Bellam, Jaggery and cumin seeds are placed on the bride and groom's heads. Then it is followed by a ceremony in which the bride and groom pour rice grains over each other's heads.
The groom is seen tying Mangalasutra to the bride's neck. This ceremony is the most significant part of the Hindu weddings.
As she is living through the moment of her lifetime, the pretty bride bestows a pretty smile.
Yes, they are pronounced bride and groom now.
