Proposal for a postmodern collage based on Bertold Brecht`s "MOTHER COURAGE" play , incorporating
A] elements of the classical cabaret - for the Brechtian ZHONGS [didactic narrative songs],
B] intermedias, inspired by the Japanese Butoh dance, as a means of the Brechtian Alienation term and
C] main action - the actual play, accompanied by images and multimedia clips.

BUTOH INTERMEDIA SCENES:

The project juxtaposes the original play that focuses on the eternal war theme and the enormous variety of contradictory genius inventions of Leonardo da Vinci, on the other hand : from his anatomical sketches, biblical scenes and flying machines to the prototypes of military machines, devices for torture and mass murder. Basic object of conceptual and visual treatment is Leonardo`s masterpiece "Vitruvian Man."
The Renaissance values here are shown as desecrated images, used and abandoned by the WAR Mutant of XXI-st century, which has neither hero nor religion, creed or direction or is just a slave of blind fanaticism. This contemporary Human-alike creature is doomed to crawl cyclically round his own cart, same as the main character of the Brecht`s play [Mother Courage herself] . Without any mainstays, it is fated to reproduce its eternal Sisyphean torments, completely alone among the cosmic void, harnessed itself in front of a death vehicle .
The aim of the production realization is to show that , and as an alternative to remind the audience an unique amalgam of poetry, humanity and godlike creativity of the Renaissance man in seeking.
