The Portland Timbers, in our opinion, have one of the best logos in Major League Soccer. Recently, they updated their color palette, and we noticed a few details that we would've done differently.

Other than that, this logo is pretty much perfect. It is simple, representative of the club & city culture, and recognizable.  

There are three differences between the logo we designed and the current one the team uses. Can you spot them?

The first and main difference is that we got rid of the three notches found in the current logo. As you can see, there are three notches where the axe extends past the circle enclosure. We, at Overscore, prefer a clean and flushed look, and that is why we removed the notches.

The second difference is simply color. With their recent brand update of embracing the Green and Gold, we figured, "why not fully embrace the two colors by making the axe gold as well?".

The last difference is that we increased the angle of the three chevron lines and made them all the same weight.
