Sociology in Fantasia: an editorial series

This series of illustrations were an assignment. The idea was to take an article provided to us, and create a group of images as an editorial. The article used was Sociology in Fantasia, an article about how online video games allow interaction between players in real time.
Here are the images in the editorial format for the project, the final product!

I added color via Photoshop. Using the three primary colors as a basis, i decided it was the best way to separate each image as well as bring them together. To ad a more dramatic feeling, i added intense shadows behind each subject, emanating from the screen they are looking at.
There three images were scanned in after the inking process. Their expressions show who is winning and who is losing, and how they feel about it. I chose a cartoon like style in order to make the images easy to read and make them friendly. After all, the article wasn't about "Rage Quitting".
These are the initial thumbnails for the series. While the style draws them together, the setting and age differences give individuality to them.
