1920 Minutes Project

Two Materials, One Challenge

Designathon’s 32 hours procedure requires a survival kit for every participant in order
to reach the finish line successfully. Every designer, amateur or professional, supports that if they have a piece of paper and a pencil, they can transform any idea to reality.
As we strongly believe the same, we converted these two objects to necessary tools
for every team.

Pencil

An ordinary object used by the right hand gives extraordinary results. And then,
you wonder how a writing implement can be a symbol, a piece of design.
The answer given from us begins from the lead of the pencil and the 1920 minutes, continues to the body, ending to the top and the last 60. The numbers printed on
the wooden surface, symbolise the time remained, as long as you use your sharpener
not only in your mind but in your pencil too.

Sketchbook

As plain as a blank page, ready to be filled with emotions, thoughts and drawings. Numbered by the minutes that demonstrate the countdown, from 1920' to 60',
the sketchbook reminds to the competitors that every minute should be valued equally,
as 32 hours are strictly restricted and hard to manage. Do not overthink, over-act instead. You have 68 pages to go,  68 steps to solve the problem given.

Here, we just introduce you the basic materials,
