The objective of this project is to design and construct functional prototypes of a family of lamps that integrate both notion of eco-feedback (for energy use, life duration, etc.) and sustainability.
Since this project encourages eco-feedback and sustainability I wanted to incorporate the proper materials and techniques to create this lamp. RXN was created out of reclaimed lumber.
RXN is a self sustainable lamp. The energy is created when the user simply cranks the nob on the side of the lamp. This encourages the user to work for the light that they use becoming aware of the work required to produce energy.
