I did this project while I was at Winona State University. We were challenged to look into ourselves and create something from the heart. He wanted us to do this because a lot of the work doesn't always show who we are and our stories.  For the project I digitally painted a old photo of me and my grandfather. Also I took and old piece of sheet music made it into art. This project meant a lot to me because my grandfather passed of esophogeal cancer and we were close. His passing has had a major impact on me so I did this to honor him. He loved music it was something we shared and he liked old swing music. This is one of my favorite songs from that time so that is why I used this piece specifically. I also used the bird in this piece because it is a tattoo I have to make it more personal.
