Gremlins Movie Poster

This is a vector redraw of the movie poster for Gremlins. It was an assignment for my Graphic Principles course with objectives to recreate this movie poster using only the pen tool, no gradients or opacity, with a 5 color max.
Interesting Facts:

- I chose the Gremlins movie poster because this movie and I have a history. At the age of 3, my aunt, thinking this was a children's movie, took me to the theatre to see it. Needless to say, it scarred me for life! So, this was kind of a way of facing my fears.
- Gremlins actually took over my computer in the process of trying to complete this assignment. There's nothing like working for 3 hours without saving your work and then having your computer go crazy and shutting itself down! Lesson learned!
- There were several easy color choices for this poster. Black and white would have been the first obvious colors. However, I chose to go with browns for a more retro feel and because in their cute stage, Mogwai were brown tones. Of course, a blue accent color was a must to keep with the original theme. I did try to do the pants in blue, considering they are denim, but found them to clash with the shirt, since only one shade of blue was used.
