For this project, I was to create a series of twelve connected vector emojis using Adobe Illustrator. The theme was of my choice, and I decided to use potted plants to create each emotion.

The first step was to make fifteen different sketches of emojis with a theme/subject of our choosing. After some brainstorming, I decided to do plants in pots as my main subject. This is because I thought I could make cute designs and use the plant to emphasize the emotion I wanted each one to convey.

Once I picked my best designs, I rendered them in vector graphics using Adobe Illustrator. I mainly used the pen and shape tools to make all the elements, copying repeating elements so that the designs stayed consistent. Most of my designs stayed the same between the first draft and the final. However, I did make changes to 'Surprised' and 'Baby'. I then settled on the title "People Plants" for my project as I felt that it reflected the theme in a fun and interesting way. Lastly, I created a background. I chose a simple color change of brown, as I wanted to keep to the theme by suggesting dirt or earth, while also keeping it simple.
