NON restaurant / Branding

NON is a restaurant of modern Central Asian cuisine located in Kharkiv, Ukraine. From the Uzbek language, "non" means bread — an extremely important, almost sacred element of the Central Asia traditions. The restaurant envelopes guests in the history and customs of the region and becomes a real adventure for them.

The interior of the restaurant conveys the authenticity and depth of Central Asian life philosophy through the prism of minimalism. Each detail tells its own story: lamps with cotton twigs, rock paintings on the walls, wooden beams with traditional ornaments, and much more.

When developing the visual identity, it was important for us to convey the philosophy of the place with the help of modern elements and compositions that would dismantle the stereotypical perception of Central Asia and create a new set of value-based visuals. The color palette is borrowed from traditional ornaments, and the logo echoes the patterns typical of the region. Each graphic element is part of one big story called NON.
