Fishermen's Village Museum - Logo

The museum consists in 10 traditional houses from as many localities, more isolated or more accessible, located in one of the most beautiful areas of Romania - Danube Delta.

Like colorful lego pieces, the houses are spread over one of the hills located on the outskirts of Tulcea, in an area known to locals as Zagăn.

Three stone alleys pierce the village and meander through the white, blue and green houses, covered with reeds roofs made by local fishermen.

The alleys symbolize the three arms of the Danube: Chilia, Saint George and Sulina, carrying tourists through the heart of the Delta in miniature.

If you visit the reed roof traditional houses along the Black Sea coast and especially in the heart of the Danube Delta, you will see wooden details on their top.

Those wooden shapes are inspired by the surrounding nature: birds, wild animals and local flora. One might say that the wood carved shapes act as a totem for the house.

I was inspired by this wood carvings to create the logo of Fishermen's Village Museum.
