This project began life as a gift idea for a friend's new baby. I was initially searching for stories and poems containing jungle animals to illustrate for her and began with the story of the Lion & The Mouse. I then expanded into other stories n the collection that I felt contained good life advice for a little person. The design layout was inspired by tarot and illuminated manuscripts. I wanted the drawings to feel classic and traditional to match the timeless, sage wisdom of the stories they illustrate.
