As the topic of the site-specific installation, I chose how people perceive serious problems. Things that do not touch us directly and do not interfere with our daily life are pushed to the back. Even though we are subconsciously aware of their seriousness, we close our eyes to them for our own comfort.
For the Ice Watch installation, Olauor Eliason pulled several pieces of iceberg from the Greenland Sea and placed them in the squares of London. As people passed by them every day, they could watch their gradual melting. The topic of global warming thus became for the time being not only something that people sometimes hear about on TV, but a problem that they encountered on their way to work. He achieved that by not allowing people to close their eyes.
VISUAL INSPIRATION

The work by Karsten Födinger - UNTITLED (2013 reinforced concrete, 7 trees 300 x 400 x 700 cm) fascinates me with its audacity to intervene in the surrounding space. Reckless combination of such contrasting objects as a concrete block and a forest, but at the same time a feeling as if the forest grew through the block itself and it subsequently became a part of it.

The most frequently and easily publicly exhibited art is photography, and it is mostly exhibited on white canvases or boards. At the moment when the concept is reversed and the outside world is exhibited in the gallery spaces, there is still one thing that connects these two concepts - WHITE SURFACE.

Even if it's just a by-product, it's as if it 's the thing that determines what is art, what deserves attention and what doesn't.
LUNÍK IX

Luník IX is a district of Košice, Slovakia. The capacity of apartments in the housing estate is 2,400 people, in 2019, almost 6,600 residents were registered at Luník IX, of which approximately 2,200 were children. On average, 14-16 people live in one apartment. The birth rate in this part of the city is 150 to 170 children per year, with above averahe mortality rate. The unsatisfactory social and hygienic conditions of the residents of the housing estate represent a difficult burden for the city of Košice, which, as part of the complex solution to the Roma issue, is a problem for the whole country of Slovakia.

INTERVENTION
(The rock is in the visualizations only for volumetric / dimensional idea.)

I want to set up an exhibition area in the housing estate. As if a piece of gallery perfectly cut into the surroundings, exposing the reality of the current state.
Such exposure to reality can seem rude, insensitive and even inhumane, but that's exactly my point. The moment one stands directly on the platform, it's like admiring an artifact in a museum, but in fact one is in reality.

I want to point out the absurdity of what is needed to "open our eyes". Using the noble white space to draw attention to the issue and start a complicated topic without prejudice, without racism, with empathy and willingness.
